State Workers Receive Pay Raises

SPRINGFIELD IL - Some unionized state workers will get pay raises that Governor Quinn canceled last year. Nearly 17 hundred workers at the department of revenue and another 56 at the criminal justice information authority will get pay bumps after all.

A spokesperson says the Quinn administration determined those agencies have the money for the raises due to a higher than expected number of retirements and attrition.

Quinn canceled raises for nearly 30 thousand workers claiming lawmakers did not allocate enough money to pay for them.
