Decatur IL – Millikin University is awarded by Health Communications, Inc. the providers of the TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) program. The award is for 2012 TIPS Award of Excellence.
According to Adam Chafetz, "Millikin University trains 100% of its student population in the TIPS for University program. For over a decade, they have demonstrated their commitment to preventing the misuse of alcohol on their campus and in their community and have experienced impressive results due to this commitment."
The program has been going strong since 2001, when Millikin trained their entire incoming freshman class in the program. Almost 300 students were trained, and now all incoming freshman are required to participate in the workshop.
