Argument Leads to Gunshots in Urbana

Urbana IL – An argument at an apartment building on 2008 Vawter Street in Urban lead to shots fired.  Urban police arrived at the scene at 10:54 am Wednesday officers determined a shooting had occurred in the courtyard. Two male subjects where shot, and transported to Carle Hospital for treatment of wounds on their legs.

Witness, and the subjects who were shot were questioned, police learned the argument was between Tyshonda Bell and James Guy, shortly before the shooting. The argument turned to a physical fight, the fight shortly ended. The situation escalated again, when more subjects of both sides joined the fight with handguns. Shots were fired, and police and medical assistance was called.

At this time police have Arrested for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm: Deandre Fairman, a 26-year old Chicago man Arrested for outstanding Champaign County warrant: Nicole Dunner, a 23-year old Urbana woman Arrested via Notice to Appear ticket for Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver: Tyshonda Bell, a 20-year old Champaign woman Wanted for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm: James Wesley Guy, a 23-year old Rantoul man Mr. Fairman was one of the subjects found shot upon police arrival. He was later arrested without incident at Carle Hospital at about 3:03 pm following treatment of his wound. The other subject who was found shot upon police arrival was a 28-year old Urbana man; at this time, he is not being arrested.
