Savio Boyfriend Testifies at Peterson's Trial

JOLIET, Ill. (AP) -- The boyfriend of Drew Peterson's alleged victim has testified at the former Illinois police officer's murder trial that he saw no bruises on Peterson's third wife's body days before she was found dead.

Kathleen Savio was found in her bathtub in 2004 with a gash on her head and several dark, red marks.

Her boyfriend, Steve Maniaci (man-ee-AH'-chee), was the first witness to take the stand Friday as an eighth day of testimony began. He says he began dating Savio around the time she and Peterson were getting divorced.

Maniaci says he saw Savio naked three days before her body was found and the marks found after her death weren't there.

The testimony is part of prosecutors' bid to convince jurors Savio's didn't die accidentally.

Peterson has pleaded not guilty.
