Update: Police Investigate Accident on Decatur's Northeast Side

Decatur, IL - The investigation into an accident that snarled traffic for nearly six hours has taken a tragic turn.

The Macon County Coroner says Demarkus Rice, 24, died this morning at around 5:45.

Rice suffered massive head internal torso trauma.

Decatur police say the crash happened at around 11:00 AM Tuesday at the intersection of Mound Road and Route 48. Two vehicles crashed at the intersection. The crash remains under investigation.
