DECATUR -- It may not be long before you can find legal video gaming inside many Decatur bars and restaurants.
Right now 23 liquor establishments here in Decatur are awaiting approval from the state. McGorray's Golf and Grille is one of them.
Owner Charlie McGorray says gaming could bring in thousands of dollars.
"Most small businesses in Central Illinois right now are struggling with the economy the way it is," said owner Charlie McGorray. "So it's a way to boost that up, hopefully pay off bills and keep your employees happy and satisfied."
But having gaming isn't only helping local bars and restaurants. Five percent of net income on winnings will go towards the city of Decatur's operating fund.
That budget goes towards funding police, fire and public works departments.
