SPRINGFIELD IL – Governor Quinn signed a new law today, which could help parents who are late on getting back to school vaccinations.

The bill lowers the age kids can get vaccinated by pharmacists. Before the bill, kids under 14 had to get vaccines from a doctor. The age limit now is 10, for things like the flu and tetanus shots from a pharmacist. Kids still have to get a prescription from a doctor for the shot.

There were approximately 15 hundred cases of Whooping cough reported in all of last.
