Champaign IL – Police are now investigating two more attempted abductions that happened Thursday. The first happened while a fifth grader was waiting for her school bus just before 8 am, at the intersection of North 5th Street and East Columbia. The girl was asked by the suspect several times if she wanted a ride.
The suspect is described as a man in his late 20's or early 30's, with short brown hair, a light brown beard and a mustache. He was driving a small silver door car with a white tiger sticker on the window.
A second attempt happened just before 4pm near Williamsburg and Thornton Street. A seven year old boy was approached by two men in a black pick up truck. One has short blond hair and was wearing glasses and a dark green shirt. The second has blue eyes, short blond hair and was wearing a black T-shirt.
Police think the attempted abductions may be related. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 373-TIPS.
