
Decatur - A Macon County sheriff's deputy has been fired.
On Wednesday, the department fired 41 year-old Brian Duff after an internal investigation.
Police say duff crashed into the back of a truck on North Jasper Street, June 29th in Decatur. 55 year-old Thomas Lennox who was in the roadway picking up a mattress that fell from the truck was struck and critically injured.
Lennox lost both of his legs as a result of his injuries.
Decatur police say Duff's actions in his squad car were clearly reckless and unsafe.
