State Fire Marshal Investigating Fire in Charleston Saturday
Charleston - There is still no word on what caused a store to catch on fire Saturday night.
Just after 6:00 Saturday evening firefighters were called to Prairie Outfitters in the 800-block of 18th Street.
When they arrived smoke was coming from the building. Hard and soft plastic fishing baits inside caused the fire to grow beyond the fire fighters' control.
The store's owner, who did not want to give his name, says he's hoping to rebuild.
"Hopefully we'll get something figured out and get rebuilt and come back. I would like to. It's a good location and you know, we were very happy down here. The customers had nothing but good things to say about the location and the building," said the store's owner.
Investigators from the Charleston Fire Department and the Illinois State Fire Marshal's office will be continuing their investigation Tuesday.
