FRANKLIN IL – Hurricane Isaac brought much needed rain to Central Illinois, but one town is cleaning up after a tornado touched down. The National Weather Service confirmed the tornado touched down in Franklin, which is about 30 miles southwest of Springfield.
Residents say the tornado damaged a workshop and trailer. The twister also damaged several large trees at Graceland Cemetery, and blew debris which shattered the windows of a truck and damaged the hood of a car.
No one was seriously injured. Two tornadoes were also spotted in Marshall County in north Central Illinois.
