NORMAL, Ill. (AP) -- A 14 year old student is in custody after a gun was fired inside Normal Community High School. School officials say shots were fired into a ceiling this morning and no one was hurt but classes have been dismissed.

Students were taken to a church to be collected by their parents. Other schools in Normal, just north of Bloomington, remain open. Bloomington is 135 miles southwest of Chicago.
