Police Investigating Officer-involved Shooting


CHAMPAIGN - Champaign Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that took place early Sunday.

Shortly After 4:30 a.m., police responded to a domestic disturbance report in the 1200 block of Crispus Drive.

An armed male had reportedly forced his way into a residence. Police arrived and shots were fired. The man was injured and transported to Carle Hospital. His condition was not disclosed. Investigators say no other injuries were reported and they will not be releasing names at this time.

Champaign Chief Anthony Cobb has asked State Police to lead the investigation.
