Arcola IL – An explosion at Rockome Gardens caused a bakery to go up in flames. Firefighters arrived on the scene, and quickly put the fire out in about 45 minutes.
The fire caused an estimated 150 thousand dollars worth of damage to the building. The fire is being called a near total loss.
Arthur Assistant Fire Chief Duane Hopkins says they are bringing in investigators to find the cause. "It appears there was a small explosion and the wall was dislodged somewhat we're not sure why or the reasoning for that.. That's one of the reasons for some professional people to come in and assist us with it"
There were no injuries, and the owner says the bakery was not being used because of renovations.
