Field Fire Set from a Couch

Springfield IL – A field fire just northeast of Springfield started Tuesday around noon. The flames covered a 10 acre radius.

Firefighters say it started after someone set fire to a couch off Ridgely Avenue. Four rural fire departments responded, and neighboring farmers used equipment to help contain the flames from reaching other fields.
