CHAMPAIGN - The Don Moyer Boys and Girls Club is warning against a new scam in Champaign.
Comptroller Tammy Ebert reports the club received two calls this week from people who had been approached by a door-to-door salesperson.
The alleged salesperson claims to be selling magazines to raise funds for the club. Ebert says the Boys and Girls Club does not hold door-to-door fundraisers, and urges those who have been hit to contact police.
At this time a description is not available for the scam artist. Police could not be reached but Ebert says there are no reports of anyone purchasing a subscription.
