Sheriff's Office Looking for Semi Tractor after Accident

DECATUR IL – Macon County Sheriff's Office responded to a traffic crash involving injuries on Route 51 around 3:15pm Wednesday. The crash happened on Route 51 just north of Emery Road. Deputies found a car had crashed into the guard rail attached to a bridge just north of the intersection.

 

The vehicle was traveling north on Route 51 next to a semi tractor pulling a grain trailer, the vehicle suddenly swerved into the side of the grain trailer. The driver lost control of the car and crashed into the guard rail.

 

The driver of the car a, 20 year old, woman from Clinton was transported to Decatur Memorial Hospital was treated for two broken arms.  The driver of the semi tractor did not realize the vehicle hit his trailer and continued north on Route 51, and has not been located at this time.

 

On further investigation, the driver of the vehicle was arrested for improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving under the influence of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia. The driver has been released, and is due to appear in court for her charges.
