CHICAGO (AP) -- Chicago teachers are back on the picket lines at schools across the city as their strike continues for a seventh school day.
Outside of Goethe (GU'-tuh) Elementary School in the Logan Square neighborhood on the city's northwest side, a few dozen striking teachers gathered and tried to stay warm as temperatures dipped into the 40s.
Science teacher Heath Davis says he's optimistic that a vote Tuesday could end the teachers' first strike in 25 years. But he says teachers still want to be sure they have all of the details of the proposed deal.
Davis adds that all of the teachers want to get back into the classroom. And he says he's especially eager to get back to his students and their lab experiments.
