DANVILLE - Danville officials are hoping to rebuild a section of their city.
On Tuesday aldermen voted 10-1 to spend $75,000 on Main Street property. The purchase is a part of a long-term riverfront development plan.
Public Works Chair Mike Puhr says Danville is one of few cities without a developed riverfront. He says the land could be used for a number of facilities that would boost employment and tourism.
But alderman Bill Black says the purchase requires too much taxpayer money and with too little taxpayer input.
