Garbage and Recycling Fees May Change

Springfield IL – Garbage and recycling fees could be billed a different way, if a new proposal is passed. Aldermen want those fees to be billed through city water, light, and power, instead of waste haulers.

 

The change would not require you to change your waste haulers or limit your options. The only change would be one less bill to pay. To learn more information there will be three town hall meetings:  The following three town hall meetings will be held to discuss proposed changes to Springfield's waste-hauling ordinance:

 

Wednesday, Sept. 26: 7 to 8:30 p.m., South Side Christian Church, 2600 S. MacArthur Blvd

Thursday, Sept. 27: 6 to 8 p.m., Wanless Elementary School, 2120 E. Reservoir St. (Also a Ward 3 community meeting)

Thursday, Oct. 4: 6 to 8:30 p.m., Dove Conference Center, Prairie Heart Institute, 619 E. Mason Street
