CHAMPAIGN, IL-- The University of Illinois held a 24 hour vigil to honor prisoners of war and those missing in action. The vigil was held in the anniversary plaza between the Illini Union and the Main Quad from 6AM Friday until 6AM Saturday.
Many people stopped by to see military cadets and midshipmen. They marched and carried drill rifles in front of the display. Marches took place at the beginning of every hour along with the playing of the taps. People also signed message boards in honor of National POW/MIA Recognition Day.
