Community Involvement Fair

Decatur IL – 16 Decatur based organizations took part in a community involvement fair at Richland Community College. Representatives set up booths and shared volunteer opportunities with students.

Organizers say many courses require service learning, and they want students to think about ways they can have a positive impact in the community.

Director of Student Engagement, Heather Kind Keppel told WAND "Volunteering is a great way to not only learn about your community but to learn about yourself. We want students to have intentional conversations about what they could possibly do to make Decatur a better place."

Today's community involvement fair was not limited to students anyone in the public could attend.
