DECATUR-People who live near Lions Park in Decatur are still in shock after a Monday shooting killed a 28 year old man. But many in that east side neighborhood say even before that shooting, they've felt unsafe.
There have been a number of break-ins in the lions park neighborhood over the past month and lots of vandalism and fights in the park.
Park police say they've had problems with truant minors and some juveniles from nearby Webster Cantrell hall.
People who live in the area say they're always on edge because of it.
"It makes me very insecure, says 12 year Lions Park resident Cheryll Henry. "It makes me insecure every time I leave the house, for fear of what I'm coming back to, am I going to be broke into?"
People in that area have a neighborhood watch group and are very active contacting each other hoping to drive down crime
