Champaign IL – Teachers in Champaign have overwhelmingly voted to authorize a strike notice. Since June 30th the Federation of Teacher has yet to negotiate a new contract with the school district.

This vote to authorize a strike means that if the union's bargaining team finds it necessary, they can call for a strike, and file an intent to strike notice.

The union and school board have two more negotiating sessions set for this month.
