Plan for Pets in a Disaster

Posted:

Illinois EMA – The Illinois Emergency Management is reminding people to think about their pets when planning for a disaster.

This month Illinois EMA will be working to increase awareness of pet disaster preparedness. The IEMA director advises you to plan on at least a three day supply of food and water for your pet. Along with medicines, pet documents, a collar with an ID tag, a harness or leash, and a pet carrier.

Officials say it is also a good idea to have toys or treats to help lower your pet's stress level.
