House Fire in Springfield

Springfield IL – An early morning fire destroyed a Springfield home. Firefighters said it happened in the 19 hundred block of South Martin Luther King Drive.

The fire broke out around 5am Monday, when a neighbor noticed flames and called 911. The estimated damage to the house is just over 20 thousand dollars.

Fire officials say that the occupant recently moved out of the home, and they are investigating the cause of the fire.
