Residents Concerned with Smell at Murdock Mine


Murdock – People who live near an old mine, which is now being used as a dumb, are voicing concerns about their safety.


The State Attorney General's office has filed a complaint with the State Pollution Control Board against Alpena Vision Resources. The complaint alleges Alpena has violated the terms of their permit at Murdock Mine, which has lead to air and water pollution.


Nearby residents have complained to the state EPA about the odor, and some are afraid that pollutants form the waste have contaminated their well water.
