Murdock – People who
live near an old mine, which is now being used as a dumb, are voicing concerns
about their safety.
The State Attorney General's
office has filed a complaint with the State Pollution Control Board against
Alpena Vision Resources. The complaint alleges Alpena has violated the terms of
their permit at Murdock Mine, which has lead to air and water pollution.
Nearby residents have
complained to the state EPA about the odor, and some are afraid that pollutants
form the waste have contaminated their well water.
