
Springfield IL – As the temperatures drop the state is reaching out to keep the homeless warm. The Department of Central Management Services will donate just over one million dollars worth of clothes and winter gear to local shelters.
The items are gently used federal property, including clothes and recourses used by the military. Officials say there are more than 15 thousand homeless people in Illinois.
