CHAMPAIGN - Illinois residents who were denied voter registration now have a second chance.
Through Grace Period Registration, voters are able to register in-person at their election authority up to November 3rd. Identification and proof of address are required.
Champaign County Clerk Gordy Hulten says he and his staff are busy contacting those whose registrations were initially denied. While 900 were originally rejected, he says only 500 in the county remain without registration.
Residents were rejected for failure to properly complete the registration form.
