High Speed Rail Test Run

LIVINGSTON COUNTY, IL-- For the first time in Illinois an Amtrak passenger train hit 110 miles per hour Friday morning.

The train reached that high speed between Dwight and Pontiac during a test run. The high speed rail line will run between Saint Louis and Chicago.

Governor Quinn, U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood and other leaders were among those who were aboard the train for the historic ride.
