Gilman Community Shocked After Shooting

Gilman IL – Police are still investigating the murder of a Gilman gas station attendant, but they say robbery was not a motive in the shooting.

The Iroquois county Sheriff says a 27 year old Jonathan Rubin was shot and killed around 3:30 Saturday morning at the Shell station in Gilman. It is the first murder in Iroquois county since 2009.

Gilman residents say they are shocked to see this happen in their small quiet town. Police have not made any arrests, but they are interviewing people who knew the man and they also have security video footage from inside the store.
