Springfield Beach House; no one interested in lease offer

Springfield IL – The city of Springfield could not find anyone interested in leasing out the Beach House of Lake Springfield.

Even after requesting proposals and extending a deadline, no one made a lease offer. City Water Light and Power wanted to lease the building out because it costs more to maintain it than what rental fees brought in.

The city owned utility said they will explore other uses for the Beach House.
