Macon County – Some people who live in part of Macon County are going to pay more for cable television service.

The Macon County board voted last night to tack on a fee to cable subscribers, in unincorporated areas. The money will go toward providing a public education and government programming channel.

Comcast will operate and maintain the program channel. The service fee would be 35 cents per subscriber, per month.
