
Hundreds of people in Macon County spent part of Veterans Day in the dark.
It is not clear as to what caused the outages.
Ameren crews battled downed power lines most of Sunday. Around noon, more than 1,600 customers were without power.
However, strong winds are knocking down trees and ripping power lines.
It is always smart to assume the wire is still energized if you see a downed wire.
