Effingham IL – Firefighters are investigating a house fire.

The fire happened in the 700 block of West Fayette Avenue on Friday night. Firefighters say live power lines that burned created a hazard. Luckily the people living in the home got out. However, three cats died in the fire.

They family's home has an estimated 40 thousand dollars in damage with a total loss of their items.
