Decatur IL – It was one year ago that a 9 year old boy was hit and killed by a car in Decatur.

The family is remembering his life, as they gathered for a vigil. The vigil was held at the corner of West Grand and Oakland Avenues Wednesday evening.

Malachi was hit by a car as he chased a ball into the street. The family says he will always have a place in their hearts.

Through organ donations, Malachi saved the lives of three children and two adults.
