CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) -- A judge in east-central Illinois has handed down an 18-month prison sentence for a Charleston man who was found with 20 pounds of marijuana in his home.
34-year-old Eric Miller on Wednesday also was ordered to pay more than $16,000 in fines.
Miller originally was charged with a more serious drug offense that would have sent him to prison for at least six years, but authorities say he pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of cannabis with intent to deliver. That lesser charge carried a possible prison sentence of one to three years prison or up to 2 1/2 years of probation.
