Brigette Burnett joined the WAND-TV team as a weekend anchor and reporter. After graduating from Columbia College Chicago in 2010, Brigette is once again proud to call Illinois home. Prior to working for WAND, she was a fill-in anchor, multi-media reporter and producer in the Flint, Michigan market. However, in Wausau, Wisconsin at NewsChannel 7 is where she got her start as a journalist.
She is a proud graduate of Columbia College Chicago where she earned a bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism. Her drive and high G.P.A. helped her land several coveted internships while in college. She interned at Channel 7 Action News in Southfield, Michigan, NBC-5 and The Publicity Works in Chicago, Illinois. In college, she also anchored and reported for Columbia's student ran newscast, NewsBeat.
Brigette enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She has been dancing since she was three years old and her goal as a child was to be a professional ballet dancer. Brigette is from the only mitten state in the U.S., Michigan that is for all of the Wisconsinites.
