Decatur Council will discuss aggregation program

Decatur IL – The Decatur City Council will discuss a plan Monday night on how to manage the new municipal aggregation program.

Electric aggregation passed in Decatur and several other cities and towns on November 6th. It means they will buy electricity for you in bulk and that should lower your power bills for your home or small business.

The city is moving toward an opt out program. Aggregation does not affect Ameren, they will continue to deliver electricity regardless of the supplier. Monday the council will meet to look at the alternative energy suppliers who will be able to offer bids next month.
