– One man is in the hospital after a semi truck accident this morning in Douglas County.
Tuscola Fire Chief told WAND that a semi was
traveling south on I-57 when it hit and tore a guard rail across the road just north
of exit 212 in Tuscola. The driver was transported to Sarah Bush Medical Center
Another semi crashed into the guard rail in
the middle of the road, and punctured his fuel tank. A third semi, and a passenger
vehicle both ran over the guard. Both of those vehicles had minimal damage.
I-57 southbound lanes were closed for about
30 minutes this morning as crews cleaned up. Tuscola Fire, Douglas County Deputies,
ISP, and Arrow ambulance all responded to the crash.
