Former Cardinals Manager Donates to Local Animal Shelter
Many Cardinals fans met former manager Tony LaRussa Sunday.
LaRussa was at Haines and Essick in downtown Decatur signing his new book 'One Last Strike.' People that bought the book received a free ticket to the autograph event.
That wasn't the only thing going on at Haines and Essick. LaRussa surprised a local animal shelter.
Part of the proceeds were given to the Decatur and Macon County Animal Shelter Foundation. They received a $1,000 dollar check. The foundation will use some of the money for their 'Home for the Holidays' event. It's an event were people can adopt an animal. The foundation will pay for half of the adoption costs.
