Man who attempted to murder two police officers has been sentenced

Springfield IL – A Springfield man has been sentenced for two counts of attempted murder of a police officer.

28 year old, Jesus Ramirez was fleeing from police in January 2011, when he got out of his car and attempted to fire a handgun at a Sangamon County Deputy and a Springfield Police Officer. He was found guilty of armed violence and possession of cocaine with intent to deliver.

Ramirez will spend 90 years behind bars.
