Champaign IL – A University of Illinois student is recovering after an armed robbery.

Champaign police say a student was attacked on South Busey Avenue just before nine last night.  The student was walking home when he heard someone behind him, that's when a man hit him with a gun.

The suspect stole his book bag and laptop, and ran off. If you have any details on the attack police are asking that you call Crimestoppers.
