CHAMPAIGN - After two years of restoration, the historic Landmark Hotel is open for customers.

Owner Xiao Jin Yuan says this is a "soft" opening, as only 24 of the 128 rooms are available. While the ballroom is also open for rent, the other amenities won't be completed for another several months.

Yuan says he hopes to reopen the Alumni Tap bar and potentially develop a karaoke dance club in the basement level.
