Local stores have their attention on holiday scammers.
WAND caught up with Erica Giger, a sales associate at Giggles in downtown Decatur. Giger said, they are keeping their eyes open for people that may not have the right intentions.
"We always check ID's. Especially if the cards aren't signed. . . We make sure to get. . . as much information we need to from somebody if they are writing a check. We make sure we get their phone number and everything on the check is correct," Giger said.
Giggles sells identity theft cases to put your credit cards in.
Giger added, when employees greet shoppers and make sure they are finding things, it helps stop possible scammers.
