Clipped Up Featuring Dylan Thompson is Urban Snowboarding Defined.
Corona, CA (PRWEB) December 04, 2012
One of snowboarding’s most creative and capable street riders, Dylan Thompson has just released his jaw-dropping online video part Clipped Up. Backed by Monster Energy and Technine, Clipped Up features Dylan putting down a solid four-minute segment stacked from start to finish with some of the most progressive, skate-inspired urban action of 2012.
After several seasons of delivering solid crew-based video parts, Dylan pushed himself in a new direction and assembled a production dream team for the creation of his first solo film project which was created for the digital space so kids could watch it for free and share it virally.
“I’m stoked on what we did,” said Dylan. “I think putting it online for free is cool. It makes it accessible to everyone and hopefully gives more people the chance to see it.”
Shot by renowned snowboard filmmaker and FODT Films founder Cole Taylor, the dynamics of Dylan’s truly A-grade riding are captured in crisp, expansive HD by Cole’s flawless camera work. Dylan hits everything from kinks to lines to creative redirects to walls, close-outs, drops, and dams; showcasing his, clean, composed style and knack for seeing potential in all types of terrain in cities across the world.
“We filmed a lot around Utah,” said Dylan. “I did a trip to Ottawa, Canada which was awesome and spent a week in Denver then Montana and also got a few shots in Japan.
The soundtrack for Clipped Up is an original score created by award-winning music producer Baron, best known for his work on films like Flip Skateboards Extremely Sorry and Volcom’s 9191. Joe Carlino, whose credits include creating award-winning snowboard films for TransWorld and Videograss, handled editing duties.
“I was really into what Dylan had filmed and I am a fan of Joe,” said Baron. “It was a fully collaborative effort to put this together—to get the flow of the music to match the action.” Ultimately everything fell into place.”
Of the final video, Dylan said, “I’m stoked. Joe’s work is really good and well respected so I was hyped to have him working on the project. I think it turned out awesome and it's cool to see your work from all year come together. I like seeing all the clips and just remembering the funny or crazy stuff that lead up to those moments. We had some good times filming which gets me stoked to film again this winter.”
