PANA -- Police need your help finding who's behind a mass tire-slashing in Christian County.
On Saturday morning, Downs Motor in downtown Pana discovered 24 tires slashed in their lot. But they weren't the only ones hit.
Nearly 50 vehicles and over 80 tires were vandalized throughout the city sometime between 8 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Saturday.
This caused thousands of dollars in damage across Pana, and most cases likely won't meet an insurance deductible.
Pana Police Officer Daniel Bland told WAND it is a frustrating crime.
"It's frustrating to the community, and it's frustrating to us as law enforcement," Bland said. "It's obviously our duty to prevent this from happening, so we're going to do what we can to hold people accountable for this. But it's frustrating for everyone involved."
Police said the person responsible is facing jail time. Anyone with information should call Christian County Crimestoppers at 1-800-568-TIPS.
