Graduate Employees will make more money

Champaign IL – University of Illinois graduate students will soon be making more money.

After seven months of negotiations, a new contract will raise wages 2.5 percent. The minimum wage for graduate students will also be raised in increments over the life of the deal.

About 40 percent of graduate student workers make minimum wage. More than 95 percent of the union members who voted approved the new five year agreement.
