Champaign IL – The U of I will receive a game changing grant.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will give the University a five year, 25 million dollar grant to pay for research. The research could address a global food shortage in the future.

The project will be the first major attempt to find out if Photosynthetic Efficiency could help increase crop production.
