– The man police say led them on a high speed chase, which resulted in serious
injuries to a Decatur
man, appeared in court Tuesday.
32 year old, Montez Williams
was appointed a public defender in court today. Williams did not make a plea.
He is expected back in court next week.
Police tried pulling Williams
over for a traffic stop, when they say he took off reaching speeds higher than
90 miles per hour. At the intersection of Garfield Avenue and 24th Street, police say Williams hit 33
year old Shane Lewis who was on his bicycle.
Lewis suffered a skull
fracture, broken jaw, and bleeding on the brain. Police say, Williams was under
the influence of Cannabis.
